O.K. got that. But could someone better articulate this paragraph from one of Peter Kreefts books.
“Beneath all differences you always find some basic agreement. All arguments need a common premise… Unless there is some common premise, you can’t have disagreement about how to apply that premise.”
I got the first part, but the second part I am having trouble picturing. Perhaps an analogy or something? Anyway, I would like someone to better explain this last sentence for me.
