I went to Eucharistic Adoration today at the Catholic High School in our town (they’re having it everyday until a Pope is elected). The kids are required to stop in for 10 minutes each day and pray with a designated group. Most do not seem moved by it, although I know you can’t judge always by outward appearances. But today, one boy came in while I was there, by himself, so I know it wasn’t his ‘scheduled time’, and instead of just genuflecting before entering the pew, he got down on both knees, blessed himself, head bowed, and stayed there for a few seconds. He entered the pew in front of me, knelt down, and prayed with his head in his hands. After a long time, he then got up, left the pew, knelt down on the floor again, and blessed himself with his head bowed. It was obvious he was in complete adoration. It was beautiful, and a blessing to me to see such reverance. It gave me hope again in our young kids.
