Hello. My first post here. So, I’m actually a Catholic revert, and I have felt the call to become a lay catechist/faith teacher, yet I honestly, have some fears. For example, I am aware of the verse that says be ye not all teachers, for stricter judgement is reserved for us. (James 3:1). However, is it really a calling from God and I am being a bit cowardly, or is there something else. Any advice, tips, experiences?
P.S. Keep me in your prayers, a lot of stuff is happening related to my faith. God bless, and peace! Christ be with you all!

Speak to priest.
I don’t know how it goes with cathecists, but if the Church accepts you in the end then you know you are called.
Step toward serving God can only be good, so don’t let your fears overcome you.

Usually at first the priest will ask you questions to test you and assign you a role under someone already doing catechist-related activities. So it is not something you will jump into unsupervised. Have no fear.
