If today (Saturday) you attended the morning Mass, then that was the daily Mass for Saturday.

If today (Saturday) you will attend the " after 4:00 p.m." Mass, then that is Sunday Mass, which was Palm Sunday, which is the biginning of Holy Week, Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday.

And if you are so inclined, I also encourage you to attend THIS Thursday’s evening Mass, which is Holy Thursday, the focus is on the Lord’s Last Supper.

Holy Thursday: The Lrd’s Last Supper

Holy Friday: The Passion of Christ

Holy Saturday: The evening Mass will include the Blessing of the water

Easter Sunday: Resurrection of The Lord.

All of these Masses (Holy Friday is not a Mass, but a service) are really ONE GRAND EVENT: The Triduum.

Don’t let me confuse you. 🙂 Just know that if you attend a Catholic Church on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Easter Sunday, that these each have unique characteristics. You might want to attend all, a few, of these.

Enjoy them, like seeing a series of movies, in which you just go along for the ride.

MORESO, enjoy these as a Christian with your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Peace.

Thank you for your replies. I just can’t do it. I went ot ask my Sister if she wanted to come with me and she replied “Church on Saturdays…? No not really.” I just came into my room and cried. I’m so stupid. I’ve felt nervous all day today, I can’t even go to Church. God must be sickened with me. I’m so sorry to make such a fuss. This is the only place I can go and talk openly aboutt his. If I didn’t have this place I probably would have burst.

God is not sickened with you. He is calling to you, and you are hearing his voice. For it to cause you so much sorrow must mean you recognize and long for him. If he is calling you to Mass, you will go.

Thank you, that was so beautiful 🙂 I feel much better now, my Grandmother had called and she asked if anything was wrong, I eventually just ended up spilling everything out to her, I was so surprised to find out that she knows alot of people who attend this Catholic Church here, she even said she would go with me on Monday! I’m so happy now! I’m sorry for being such a pain in the neck here, it’s hard for me to go out in public places because I have panic disorder and I am getting over it but it still lingers and causes me feer of going out alone. I am so thankful for all the kind people on this forum. Thank you so very very much.

God bless you and your grandma.

She, too, must have heard God calling you.😉

We’re all rooting (and praying) for you! It takes alot of guts to do something like this.:blessyou:

Just relax, no reason to panic, God loves you more than you can know. 🙂

I just got back about 30 minutes ago from the Easter Vigil. I really loved it! I got to see them welcome in the new Catholic members. I went with my Grandmother, but I could tell she wasn’t really into it and that’s okay because she likes her own Church, but I definately want to start going to the Catholic Church from now on. I really enjoyed it, the only problem was I was lost quite a bit of the time, I tried to follow in the book they had there but I just could not figure out where they were reading/singing from!

Thank you guys for all your help and words of encouragement, I was so nervous today but I feel so much better now that I got to go.

Don’t be too confused—the Easter Vigil is so much more than a regular Mass, which is much easier to follow. Just look through the missalette. There are slightly different formats, but there are parts that are the same for every Mass, and the readings which channge.

Here’s a link to the readings. Just click on the day, and you will see the parts that change. nccbuscc.org/nab/index.htm

Our missalette has the Ordinary (unchanging) part of the Mass in the front, and the readings with the dates after than and music toward the end.

GoD bless you in your journey.

Congratulations, Shinobu 🙂 It’s really cool that you did this even though you were nervous about it. I hope you come back! Keep in mind that you don’t have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. If you don’t already know the Our Father and Nicene Creed, memorizing them might help you feel like more of a participant. You can also look up what the readings are going to be on any given day if you want. usccb.org/nab/index.htm

I’ve been going to mass my whole life, but it was only recently (in college) that I started to really understand and appreciate it. 🙂

Thank you so much for those links! I checked their schedule for Mass and I think I am going to go tommorow.

Welcome! My stepson was just received into the church last nite at Easter Vigil. He went through the rcia and my wife, (who is a convert) sponsered him. I am really happy for him, but I told him that you don’t learn everything at once. You sort of have to grow into it. So if you are really interested, check in to the rcia program near you. And have a happy and blessed Easter.

Happy Easter.🙂

Congratulations Shinobu, I am glad to see that you liked the mass and plan on going again. The mass is beautiful. You will get used to it after a while, there is an order that it follows that is constant.
