Hope this is the right place to post this question…
I live very close to an SSPX church that has a third order Carmelite group associated with it. I was attending a Carmelite group at a novus ordo church quite a bit farther away. Would it be ok for me to attend the Carmelite group at the SSPX even though I attend an FSSP church?
Is it valid and would they even let me join them?
It would be much easier for me to get to the carmelite group in the SSPX church that’s why I am asking.

The SSPX is a schismatic group. The Church discourages us from participating in their activities.

While they may call themselves a Carmelite group I doubt that they are under the authority of the Carmelite province in your area so if you believe God is calling you to make promises as a Secular Carmelite I recommend you stick with the community you are with now.

You should be asking this question of the Carmelite group you’re already affiliatd with, and I’m guessing they will say “no” because of the reason Dan Defender said.

In addition to the other good replies, prayer for discernment

Are there other “third orders” in SSPX?
I wonder if there are Franciscans, Dominicans, groups etc attached to SSPX chapels.

If so do any have a connection to lay groups or clergy outside SSPX?
