I am a Benedictine Oblate attached to the Monastery of the Good Shepherd in Rio Grande city. look for the Benedictine house nearest you, you may search on-line. After a year of formation, we make a profession, which is a promise, not a solemn vow, to observe as far as possible the Benedictine virtues of stability, fidelity and hospitality, to observe the rule as it applies to daily life in our own state of life and condition in the world, to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, and to support the monastery. We aid the sisters in their primary work which is evangelization and pro-life witness. We meet every other month as a whole group at the monastery for a meal, prayer, and transacting business, and on alternate months in local deanery gatherings. What else would you like to know?
