Benedictine oblates are lay men and women (including married and singles) who live a contemplative life of seeking God. That charism, seeking God, is pursued in a life of following the Rule of Saint Benedict written about 530 AD. Benedictine spirituality includes a balance of prayer and work, thus appealing to many who live in the world.
