Product Creates Ethical Controversy


The excerpt that ruffled my feathers**…“Somebody who really wants a boy or a girl might include such information in their decision as to whether to carry the pregnancy or to terminate it,” said Dr. Henry Lerner, an obstetrician/gynecologist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Mass.**
#1. I thought it was “just a blob of tissue.” How can a blob of tissue have a sex??
#2. Will people really be that spoiled to go through the effort of having an abortion just because they wanted a boy/girl?
#3. This test is PLAYING GOD!

Just another way for the Pro-deathers to get their way.

“So…you just want a little girl this time…well it’s a boy…”.
“I already have three boys and I want a girl…let’s try again honey!”

Also, I too thought it was just a blob of tissue…excuse me pro-deathers…what are you talking about…contradicting yourselves now? Now the blob of tissue has a “sex”…come on guys, get your own story straight…is it a child or tissue.

Somebody is always looking for death…and an excuse to justify death of the weakest ones of the human race.

This sort of thing has been going on longer than you realize.

In one country–I think it was India–one doctor was quoted as saying that when women find out the gender of their baby, they cry: tears of joy if it’s a boy, tears of woe if it’s a girl. If it’s a girl, some nine times out of ten it’s aborted.

Now that country has a problem of a surplus of boys but too few girls to marry. I think I heard that China is in the same boat.
 
This makes me angry, too. The culture of death strikes again.

What is the need to know the baby’s gender so early? If it’s just a matter of painting the nursery pink or blue, or buying girl’s or boy’s clothing, mom can wait until it’s time for the ultrasound, and then shop accordingly.

The way I see it, the only reason one would need to know the gender so early is to “get rid” of the baby if it’s the “wrong” gender. I guess the death-culture types feel better about aborting a baby early on, when they think that it’s just a blob of protoplasm, as opposed to those inconvenient late-term abortions, when even the pro-death faction can’t deny that the baby is actually a baby. :mad:

Why do people insist on killing each other? :tsktsk: It makes me sick to think that a mother, the one who is supposed to love and care for her children above everyone else, is going to kill their child because it is the WRONG SEX??? How is that possible??? :crying: :crying: :crying: :hmmm:

To what good purpose can this be used? Why in the world would you need to know the gender at FIVE WEEKS? As if the remaining 35 don’t give you adequate time to prepare a layette and a nursery?

The only possible outcome of this new technology is MORE ABORTIONS.

Women who wouldn’t dream of having an abortion at 16 weeks will find it much easier to abort that five-week “blob of tissue!”

To kill a baby because it is not the sex you wanted, is beyond contempt. There is NO reason to terminiate a pregnancy even if the baby is profoundly retarded or deformed. I believe God has a special Love:love: for these children. But to kill because you don’t want a certain sex, is **SICK:banghead: WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO:bigyikes: **
 
This is another example of: Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.

Science and medicine has been able to make so many things possible. In the six years I worked in a NICU, I saw babies born at 24/25 weeks gestation have so many problems due to undeveloped lungs, mainly they would die. When I left the NICU, medical advances made the outcome of death due to immature lungs remote. That is using science for the purpose God intended, the protection of life.
This new test is something of a waste of time, both of science and of the parents.
