I am confused… I don’t even know where on this forum to post this question.
I would like to read St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologiae, II-II, 81, 1
(referenced on pg 440 of the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible.)
I’ve found this:
http://www.documenta-catholica.eu/d...inas - Summa Theologiae - Prima Pars - EN.pdf

question 2, article 2, however I have no idea what 81, 1 means???
question 2: THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
article 2: Whether it can be demonstrated that God exists?

this doesn’t seem to relate to James 1:27 .
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try this:

P.S. The Summa has three parts, with the second part itself divided into two sections. So, “II-II” refers to the second section of the second part. “81” refers to the 81st question of that part of section II, and “1” is the article.

There is also the “supplement” to the Summa, which is a compilation of other writings of St. Thomas, put into the format of the Summa, to finish it off.
