Hi y’all,

I had to read a section of Thomas Hobbes opus Leviathan for a class. Hobbes is getting very interesting for me, personally, to read but everyone else in the class finds it rather difficult but I do not think it is SO difficult because I usually read a ton of deep philosophy books. I am just wondering what y’alls opinions are of Thomas Hobbes and the Leviathan and I want to know if any of you have read his work. Also, if you have read it, how long did it take you to read it??

Thank you and God bless!

I have read alot about Hobbes work…but have not plunged into it. Professor Benjamin Wiker has several chapters on Hobbes in his new book “Worshipping the State”.

I noticed you did this for a class…is gay marriage coming up for a classroom discussion soon? Hobbes would be the Supreme Courts go-to-guy for legalizing gay marriage.

I didn’t find it difficult. It is written in a clear way. I think that students who encounter philosophy for the first time find most things difficult, so your classmates are not an exception 😃
