- Live for God alone. He is the only One that truly will matter when you die, and the only One that matters now. He created you from dust and to dust you shall return someday. Because of this reality, why live for someone else?
- Emotions propel us to action. But oftentimes we emote based on our perceptions. Instead of emoting and acting based on perceptions, decipher the reality. Never assume the worse. Assume the best. What would Jesus do? He does not act by assuming the worse. He assumes the best, for we are His children.
- Unconditional love can only be given to you from God. Any person that claims to love you unconditionally is lying. The Bible tells us “Love is patient, love is kind…”. This sort of love is the love that we should all strive for in our lives—with our family, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, and with God most importantly. However, we will ultimately fail in giving and receiving this type of love to and from other humans. For only God can love us unconditionally. The love that the Bible describes is our perfect love. God is our ultimate spouse. In heaven, we see what perfect love is. For now, we dream of that love and always give our best to love as God loves us.
- Each person no matter how bad they may seem, how evil they may act, and how hurtful and deceitful they may be, is still a brother or sister in Christ. We are called to love everyone. We must love everyone as they are all created in God’s image and likeness.
- Forgiveness is the understanding that a bad circumstance propelled a good person to a hurtful action. Forgiveness is not holding grudges or making conditions. It is not full of contingencies. It is putting yourself last and others first.
- We must strive to love others more than we love ourselves. We must always be willing to listen to the concerns of other people before our concerns are heard. We must show acts of kindness, even though none may be shown towards us. We must smile at individuals that seem to need an uplifting spirit.
- When we put Jesus first, others second and ourselves last in our life we begin to experience true joy. True joy is not based off of material rewards and success, but on an inner feeling that we have sacrificed ourselves for the sake of others and made them happy in the process.
- Success should not be measured by the figure that represents one’s bank account, nor by the number of diplomas that are displayed, nor by the number of activities one does, nor by the quantity of success, nor by the number of trophies, nor by the physical attractiveness that one possesses, nor by any material quality or quantity. Instead, success is measured by how you give your love to God and others; by the smiles that others lend to you for your good works and deeds.
