I am a young student who is deeply interested in Theology and Philosophy, and I read a lot in general (news, science, business, classics, poetry, etc.). I have recently am in the process of receiving free copies of the Qur’an, the Book of Mormon and the Bhagavad-Gita along with The Tanakh and Talmud (compilation). I am moving West to East. I started reading Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, Judaism, and continuing to move onto Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Philosophies of the East. In the past I have made sure that while I was reading works, I would pray, contemplate or meditate on at least an equal amount of time in Catholic Theology and Philosophy so that I didn’t pick up any heresies, perversions or grains that would fly in under the blinds. I would read parts of the Catechism, Bible or Church documents that pertained to the new area. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to learn without inadvetitantly taking in falsehoods or perversions of the Truth??? Thank you and God Bless.

Remember that Christianity is, first of all, history. It is the story of what God has done “in space and time” to redeem man from his lost estate. If it is not history, then it is fraudulent.

It is not primarily a philosophy or a psychology or a system of ethics, as nearly all other religions are.

Keep your heart clean. Immorality is a great breeding ground for heresy.
