I’m a big fan of electronic music, and I recently came across this EDM rendition of Ave Maria produced by Markus Schulz and sung by HAILENE:

I’m kind of unsure what to think about media like this. On the one hand, I’m happy to see our secular culture find joy and value in traditional Christian art. On the other hand, it seems to run the risk of cheapening this beautiful art and turning the focus towards the self rather than towards God.

So what are your thoughts on this song? And what do you think in general about seeing modern/secular renditions of traditional Christian art?

Pretty sure he dedicated that song to his mom. Seems like a fitting tune to me.

I don’t really think much of it unless it’s blatantly disrespectful. Ariana’s song God Is A Woman didn’t outrage me too much given how there’s a ton of religions out there, but her using The Last Supper in her performance was just disappointing (given how she used to be Catholic).

If you wouldn’t do the same for other religions that are currently practiced, don’t do it for Christianity imo.

But yeah, generally it’s disappointing when they take a Christian element and twist it for sex or relationships.
