I just went to go replace my old PIETA prayer booklet for a new one today. I noticed that the one i was getting was totally different from my old one by the order of the pages of different prayers. I thought no big deal at first, but when i started to look for certain prayers i found their titles renamed and wording entirely different. I’m not totally mad but just a little let down that they would change the phrasing of the original prayers. Does anyone know why this is?

Some of the prayers and devotions are not allowed to be printed with the attached promises. For example the St Bridgett prayers.

Which prayers exactly were changed? I know there has been some controversy over the fact that the older editions of the book contained unapproved private revelations, so some Catholic stores refused to carry the book. However, I’m not big on the re-wording of old prayers, which also sounds like it has nothing to do with the private revelation issue.

One question: There is a PIETA prayer booklet put out by Miraculous Lady of the Roses (MLOR) society which is the original publisher.

I noticed recently when I was buying one myself that there is another edition copyright by someone named “Michaele Gabriele” (I may be spelling that wrong) that has a slightly different cover. The MLOR edition does not have an author name on it.

Did you perchance get this Gabriele edition? I made a point of avoiding that edition because to me it looked like a ripoff. I understand the name of the man who originally put this book together was not Gabriele.

I have a new one and the same prayers are there , I believe your right that it may be a different book.
