With all Christian charity I read the article, and I beg to differ that this woman’s family was a “strong Catholic family.” Far from it, at least in my opinion anyway: Her parents divorced when she was one, her father remarried, moved 10 hours away and practiced another faith. The author’s mother claimed to see visions and hear voices of Christ and at one point dressed in a nun’s habit for an entire year??? That sounds like her mother had some sort of mental problem to me. The family also had financial problems, and the author was forced to work around the house a lot and finally went to live with her dad.
I am sorry for what the woman who wrote the article went through. The fact is that some of our children who are raised in strong homes are going to leave the faith, that is a fact. I would not use this article as a starting point to discuss rebel children from strong Catholic homes though, because I think it is a very weak example but that’s just my opinion. God bless your day.
