Hi, my name is Phill, and I just recently swam the Tiber this past Spring. If you’re a convert or revert like me you probably love reading others’ stories about their journey home to the Catholic Church. I have a blog where I just recently published my story under the title of “Damascus Road” at PhillB.net. I have a spare website that I don’t do that much with, and I think it would be a great idea to publish others conversion stories. Thus, if you are a convert or revert and would like to have your story published online send me an email at phillbennetzen@yahoo.com. I will have a tab where people will be classified by state and then by name. Once your story is published you can use it as an evangelization tool or what have you. I will email you the http… where your unique story can be found.

Thank you all, Phill

Can you explain to me what all of this talk is about swimming the Tiber? It seems I see it in signatures everywhere on CAF!

Swimming the Tiber is converting to Catholicism.
There are spinoff terms, like swimming the Bosporus and the Thames.

Okay wow thanks I was wondering that too, because I dont think I would want to swim that river! Makes much more sense now. 🙂

Haha, as I started to read more and more threads I had begun to surmise the meaning of this term. Thanks for the solid answer though! I don’t have a personal conversion story, because I was born and raised Catholic, but this year I sponsored a friend who most definitely swam the Tiber! She was baptized, confirmed, and received first Eucharist! I am so blessed to know her and to be able grow in our faith together.

Swimming the Tiber… I thought you all were out of your minds 😃 Thanks for clearing that up!
