I am aware of the statistics, and believe such misogyny exists—but as a the uniquely discriminated against group as it is marketed is a different question. I don’t agree that women are discriminated against but not men. And what you just said above certainly sounds like it ignores statistics and is an example of misandry itself.

You can spiral into the stereotype that men are supposed to be stoic and just take it, if they complain they’re perceived as whiny and crybabies…

There are factions on both sides however, that seem like they’re in a case of arrested development at about the 3rd grade level. Girls are better than boys! Boys are better than girls! Hysterics from both sets, getting more strident on each side as they criticize the other. Hence, the men’s rights movement starts to encounter the same problem as feminism, public starts to associate it with the well-publicized fringes instead of folks focusing on basic issues. Both parents honoring child custody as well as financial agreements in a divorce. Equality in sentencing- it may not be that women are getting too light a sentence, just that men’s sentences are too harsh. Respecting the rights of both the accused and accuser in cases of alleged sexual assault. Consistency in applying the rules and laws. Basic stuff.

This collection of quotes was the most ridiculous and idiotic I have ever seen. I honestly can’t believe some of these individuals are in higher education.

Please note, not all are professors. Some are authors whose works are included/studied in universities as part of the curriculum.

However, if you search their bios every one of them is described as a feminist. Are they the majority - no. But they are considered to be at the leading edge, the influential writers… note one of them became the leader of NOW, which I think most would consider a mainstream feminist organization.

Are you just talking about Western society or about the whole world? Try growing up as a female child in India or China. If I had to live in any of these countries it would be preferable to be male than female. The fact is, around the world, men still enjoy a lot of privileges and women don’t, such as the right to life. Most victims of abortion and infanticide are female babies, not males.

However, let me say that the answer is not secular feminism, which has made abortion and contraceptives as a sacrament, but true Christianity.
