What have you found to be very helpful when it comes to Confession?
There are a few things I do beforehand, but one very small but simple thing I do when Confessing is say this:
“Bless me, Father, for I have sinned – it has been ______ since my last confession, AND I ACCUSE MYSELF OF THE FOLLOWING SINS.”
Stating that I accuse myself has put me into the position that there is no going back – no ability to back peddle or reduce culpability. Each sin I’ve committed was mine and I need to make right. Sometimes it’s tempting to justify, even a little, in confession.
Again, very simple but I have found it very helpful.
