When did the Title “All Holiness” come into use by the Patriarch of Constantinople? And what do the other Patriarchs go by? I was reading a book titled Paul VI written by an Anglican and in it he re-accounts an episode were his holiness Pope Paul VI refers to the Patriarch as your holiness and the author says he looked shyly back at him and said “I’m not your holiness, your holiness” and Pope Paul responds “you are holiness to your people as I am to mine”. In the foot notes it said that the Patriarch’s title was his*** ***Beatitude. The book was written right after then the Second Vatican Council.
