My spiritual life has been truly altered. I have been in the Protestant church for 10 years. I have preached, taught, and done various ministries for the biggest part of these years. I have been very involved, and have been one who has taken my spiritual life very serious.

But within the last year I have been pulled towards the Catholic Church. I have absolutely positively no doubts about the authenticity of the Catholic Church and I believe 110% in her teachings. I would be a Catholic right now if I had my complete way about it.

But I beg of you all to pray for me and my family to be led there. This is a point right now that I need you all and your prayers. Please pray for my wife and my son to see the light of the Catholic Church, and to grasp onto it.

And also, please, don’t email me concerning this post. I don;t want my wife to learn too quickly that I am so serious about the Catholic Church. I am just afraid that without the proper time of watering this seed with prayers and casual insight I can give her about the Catholic Church, I am just afraid of scaring her away. We are a God fearing family, and this is a very big deal that will shake up many people I know, maybe even her.

But she knows me, and trusts me. My decision is not a fly by night feeling. It is well thought out. I have been studying Catholicism very very intensely.

Again, I beg you for your prayers!! Thank you!!

Dear Copland…you have my prayers and you also have the prayers of the WHOLE CHURCH and all the angels and saints. For years the Rosary has been prayed for the conversion of souls…I know that is part of the reason that I became Catholic - from the prayers of the faithful to the Faithful One!

I will be happy to pray for you…you may wish to check out www.marysmantle.org. It is an apostolate for those who have a spouse who is not Catholic. You may also wish to check out The Coming Home Network - EWTN.

God Bless you on your journey.

I will pray for you, too. God Bless you! You are so graced to be led to the True Church.

I am a convert, too. I converted when I was twelve. I chose to become Catholic on my own. My mother, who is a Baptist, and with whom I am very close, was very distressed at my “leaving” her. That was eighteen years ago. I feel bad that she hurt so much about my converting, but it was the best thing I ever did by far! I pray for her, and I always make a point to speak respectfully of her faith. I don’t know if God will give her the grace to convert, but I do pray and I make sure that I am the best Catholic I can be.

I know this is not the same as your situation. My husband is not Catholic, either. I just pray for him, and respect his beliefs. Again, I just make sure that I am the best Catholic I can be and I love him as much as I can. Maybe my example will convert him.

I am so happy for you in your finding the true faith!

Copland, I will happily add your intentions to my prayers.

Are you familiar with the work of “The Coming Home Network”?
chnetwork.org/

I have bee very impressed with the programs of Marcus Grodi that have been produced for EWTN.

I have copied the organization’s “Mission Statement” from their website:
During the past few years particularly, there have been hundreds of pastors and laymen of every conceivable religious tradition showing intense interest in the truths of the Catholic Faith and entering with great joy into the Catholic Church. Even though their conversions may have required great sacrifice, including the loss of friends, family and vocation, they yet believe with all of their hearts that they have truly “come home.” The purpose of The Coming Home Network International (CHNetwork) is to provide fellowship, encouragement and support for Protestant pastors and laymen who are somewhere along the journey or have already been received into the Catholic Church. The CHNetwork is committed to assisting and standing beside all inquirers, serving as a friend and an advocate.

The Catholic Church certainly needs the talents and energy of your family now.

Welcome home.

Good luck and God Bless!

Of course I will pray for you. It takes a lot of guts to do what you are doing. I had fallen away from the church, and I didn’t have the nerve to tell my wife that I wanted to do back. Then one day, she told me that she would be interested in maybe joining the church. That was 12 years ago, and we have been in the church ever since. The Lord works in strange ways (to us) sometimes.

Folks, thank you all!

I am familar with the show “The Journey Home” on EWTN, with Marcus Grodi. It is one of my favorites. The program has helped me alot because I see others who have experienced almost exactly the same thing I have experienced, and have described their journey in words that I understand, because the formula of salvation that they used to believe is what I used to believe, so their experiences are very familar to mine and their obstacles were overcome by ways that I can glean from. Their journeies are kinda like road maps that I can use for myself.

When I saw the title at first I passed it up because I was looking for a certain subject, but it made me feel guilty,so when I came across it again I felt for you and clicked to it. When I read it ,I really felt for your situation very strongly, im so very sorry you have to go thru this. I think that GOD has the answer for you if you ask it, sometimes it won’t come right away and sometimes the answer might not be what you want it to be. Im willing to talk to you anytime. But im not a teacher or a priest and niether am i worthy to give any advice or my opinion. Thanks for taking time to read this. I hope to hear from you later on in the forums.

Dear “Copeland”

I’m on a similar journey from lifelong Protestantism.

Let your light shine from within, with the truth of God’s love and His Church so others may see it.! I say take it slow----do lots of quiet reading, gentle sharing of profound truths you are finding out with your spouse, a little at a time, and perhaps attend Mass alone, and then of course together where your family goes. Little by little, as evidenced by many conversion stories, your zeal will be seen by your family, and our precious Lord will eventually lead families into His one True Church. Praise God for you and your journey brother.

mr_S4ntA offers stretched hands :tiphat: in welcoming copland home in Rome. :clapping: A great deal of courage is needed to return to the Catholic Church, I know… and I’ll keep you in my prayers.

A suggestion one could not tire of giving: pray the Rosary, pray the Rosary, pray the Rosary. 👍

God Bless! My wife was a die hard Protestant, and just barely let us get our marraige blessed in the Church when I returned Home. It took two years before my wife converted. I pulled back on any prosthelatizing and concentrated on prayer - the Rosary! “Mom” came to the rescue. So, as the previous reply stated, “Pray the Rosary”!

I’ll pray for you and your wife.

God bless!

The Mystical Body of Christ is constantly being healed by such as you! Welcome Home! I will pray for you and your family!

God Bless!

What an awesome picture! Praise God!!

What a joy to be or be becoming a Catholic! Pray for me too, as I’m only on my way to converting this year!!!

Dear Sparkle!

Thanks. Be assured of my prayers. I will offer your intentions to God during Morning Prayer, after Holy Mass and again during my Holy Rosary.

God Bless
