You are not obliged to date only Catholics. When this question comes up, I note that there’s really two ways this can go.

If you’re strong in your Faith and are the type of person who can convert someone else or at least get them to respect your Faith fully, which includes helping get the kids ready for Mass on Sunday were you to get married, then that’s fine.

If you’re the type of person who is too influenced by others or just don’t rub off as well on others, and if your in a situation where a potential partner will compromise your Faith, then I cannot advise dating that non-Catholic, and you may want to stick to Catholics.

I started out dating non-Catholics, but it really didn’t go well for me. I knew that to be strong in my Faith, I’d really need a Catholic woman. So I pretty much kept going back to that.

Date who you want, but if you are looking for a good marriage, then attend Catholic events, visit Catholic monasteries and Catholic conferences, dances, RCIA, study groups, volunteer groups. Connect and ask around. Never assume if other Catholics are around, male, female, older, etc that they do not have an eligible friend or family member to date you.

But make yourself worthy and a good prize.

The Catholic Church is a very BIG basket. lol It’s world wide across all nations and all classes.

Don’t forget, we are here to love God with all our hearts, all our minds and all our strength and to be happy with Him in the next life. A life partner that is Catholic will allow you to build a house on the foundation of rock rather than sand. You just have to look at marriage stats to know many marriages are built on sand and when the wind and rain have come the house is washed away. God is the designer of marriage and family life. Work with Him on honoring God in your daily life, in your dating, and in your marriage. Seek first the kingdom of God and ‘all these other things’ will fall into place. Certainly, when it comes to a life partner, God wants to be in the details. That is good news.

It can be more comfortable at times to date another Catholic but all and all I’ve found it to be the same as dating other christians. I wouldn’t date someone of another nonchristian faith for but I see no problem in expanding your horizons to noncatholic christians. Keep in mind that some poeople are more religious than others so look for someone who shares your values.

i think i am going to leave it in God’s hands, i am goign to continue my own journey in the faith , and trust that things will fall into place…thank you for youropinions and posts god bless you
