I’m a young buck. 23 years old. Any older wiser folks on here who have picked themselves up after a fall? What advice would you give?
This helped me. Thank you for sharing.Forgiving yourself can be the hardest part. When we go to confession, we know we’re forgiven, that’s pronounced at the end of it, it’s objective. Others forgive us and we can know this too. Accepting it is the hard part. Augustine wrote that forgiveness is when we no longer desire revenge on one who wronged us; I would say then that forgiving yourself is realizing that you are no longer due that revenge, even if you feel like it or even if it’s hard to see any other way. Pray for the grace to accept forgiveness and move on.
