I’m considering taking the TOB Part 1: Head Heart Immersion @ the Theology of the Body Institute in Pennsylvania. It’s been on my heart to do for a while now.

Has anyone taken the course and have any advice for someone before they go in?

I will be coming from Arizona, probably flying into Philly. Does anyone have advice on how to get from the airport to the institute? Any logistics tips are welcome!

Looks like it’s in Downingtown, which is west of Philadelphia and probably about an hours drive from the airport. Either car rental or Uber would probably be your best bet.

Downingtown actually has its own train station, so you could take SEPTA from the airport to Downingtown. It’s about a 2 hour trip. However, i see the Institute is out on Boot Road which is not near the train station or the Downingtown city area and is not really walkable. That whole area is like woods with little towns here and there, and if you’re going to want to go out for dinner or to see anything like churches, scenery etc on your time off, you’ll need a car. I recommend you rent one because a taxi or Uber all the way from the airport out there is going to be well over 100 dollar trip. Traffic in the Philadelphia area is terrible, be warned.

Downingtown has a very nice huge and new (but traditionally styled) Catholic church called St. Joseph if you want to pray while you’re there. If you would like to see an older church. about 5 miles to the south is West Chester boro there’s a church built in the 1800s (St. Agnes). Be prepared to wear a mask whenever you’re in public, a lot of places are enforcing now with hefty fines due to a spike.
