I actually like the song “I Love This Bar”, and I’m generally NOT a fan of country music.

That said, I am ambivalent at best about Toby Keith. Isn’t he the one who sang “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue”? The first time I heard that song was during a fireworks show at a 4th of July fair. There were young children everywhere, and I was appalled that they were hearing “Put a boot in their a**, it’s the American way” during a “family” event. I guess that’s not so much a criticism of Toby Keith (since that song’s a lot more tame than many others) as it is a criticism of the event organizers. 🤷

I agree that Toby’s songs are not “upscale, moral abiding” but then, there is very little in the mainstream of the entertainment world that is. You may love him as a performer and artist and yet know that you would not live like the songs are written.

I enjoy him as an artist and his voice.

I just wonder what was the main purpose of this question? To have others tell them not to listen to the music or is it the concern like most other music, it is not the best for the youth to hear and be influenced by???
