He told me when you think something might be sinful, don’t do it. Wait until you visit your priest, bishop, or if you’re at the Vatican, cardinal and/or Pope to ask them whether something is sinful because they’ll know the actual answer. If you ask online, you’ll get different perspectives but opinion is not a fact if it’s wrong. He told me one mistake people with scruples make is they ask these questions to people online when they are not aware they’re giving strangers whom they don’t know too much power. I agree with him, pastors went through intensive trainings so they would give a more accurate answer. In other words, the only people authorized to answer whether something is or isn’t sinfully, or mortal/grave, are your pastor and bishop only.
This helped me so much, please share the scrupulous this link in case you come across a Is (this) a mortal sin? because people outside the church shouldn’t be allowed to answer for you. That’s like asking people online for a medical diagnosis when you should really see your doctor or for legal advice which you need to go to a lawyer. I used to ask if using cheat codes online was a sin and someone told me it is grave matter, but my pastor told me it’s not even a sin in of itself.
