S I am already a basket case over this whole ruling about gay marriage. Today my 15 year old sister announced that she is a lesbian and dating a girl who she is in love with. My mom (who left the church years ago, divorced my dad and is married to an athiest now, our stepfather) were fully supportive. My father, a traditionalist catholic like me still doesn’t know and I am scared what it will do to him if he finds out. I feel like my family has fallen apart before my eyes, just as the world is falling apart. I am so upset and it is stressing me out. A lot. I love her so much I just don’t know what to do. 😦

I’m sorry,

May the Peace that Passes Understanding envelope you.
:console:

Hail Mary
Full of grace
the Lord is with Thee
Blessed are thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb
Jesus,
Holy Mary
Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death
Amen

My beautiful sister in Christ,

I will pray for you and your father, of course. May I ask what you have said to your sister? I know you say you are a basket case, but I can assure you the fact you are in conflict over this means your heart holds Jesus.

I will pray for all of your family,
God Bless,
Meadhbh

Jesus, remember us when you come into your Kingdom.

Bring an end to this world soon, and may the day of judgement come quickly. We feel like it is. Prepare us for it, either way.

St. Augustine of Hippo, pray for us.

You have all my sympathy. Try to get along with her but don’t get drawn in by being sympathetic. Perhaps it will blow over. Sorry about your Mom and Dad. Just look foreward to the day you can get out on your own. Keep close to God and stear your own course.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need.

Praying. My sister is a lesbian as well. I recommend this book to you: Love into Light by Peter Hubbard. I also recommend Élisabeth Leseur’s Diary.

You can give people your love, but you cannot give them your thoughts (in other words, change their minds). They have their own thoughts. - Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet–on Children.

Whatever you do don’t speak badly of her girlfriend, it will drive her further into that girl’s arms. Then they will commiserate together about how you don’t understand her the way she does. I am sorry for what you are going through. I pray that God brings wisdom & clarity into your sister’s life. I pray that Holy Spirit guides you in how to love your sister, what to say, what to do, just like he gave words for the apostles to speak when they needed them. I also pray that you are not sucked into the drama of your sister’s relationship. All 15 year old relationships are hard & complicated enough, I can’t imagine this scenario. Stay out of it until you feel God leading you to interject in any way. This adage has served me well in life - when in doubt, don’t. But when you feel God’s leading be obedient and He will guide you and use you to minister to her.

Well Pope Francis, said who am I to judge. I have a gay sister-in-law, my daughter friend’s mom is gay. To me the world is crazy, but just accept them for who they are and you and your father share the wonderful Catholic faith.

Just pray for her. Pray the rosary and chaplet of divine mercy.

Prayers said.

Let her tell your father the news. Don’t take this upon yourself and don’t let her suck you into the drama. Don’t argue or reason, she is probably not capable of that now. This could be a phase she is going through. She has been bombarded by the propaganda since her childhood, so maybe she has confused her feelings for a friend for SSA. She is very young and going through all sorts of things. But if you can help it, don’t let her seek help from groups that encourage homosexual behaviour. These people will ‘empower’ her to do what she wants and alienate her further from the faith and family members who are not approving.

I’m so sorry dear. The world is messed up. Hugs and prayers going your way :hug1:
