This was originally posted on another forum. The poster wanted to know what order was represented in the pic. I found the article probably more interesting than the photo.

If anyone does know what congregation is represented in the photo, please let me know.

Twas also good to know that a congregation can belong to both conferences. I was considering doing so with my own congregation.

This is such a healthy trend! I’m thrilled to see these connections happening. I will have to ask my friends in Giving Voice about it. But they are the voices of the future.

Unfortunately, all three sisters that are planning it all belong to LCWR, which from a CMSWR perspective might make it suspect. I think what first needs to happen is a truly mixed group of leaders need to plan events that are clearly delineated as to the whats, hows and whys of working together. First, common ground must be defined, and I don’t think this has happened yet. This idea, or at least the way the article portrays it, seems rather lopsided.

The communities of CMSWR left for a reason (or rather, many reasons), and now they need firm, solid, and sound reasons to work with the LCWR. This article makes it sound like the argument is simply, “We need to work together.” Rather simplistic for a complicated relationship.

Catholic Christian women deepening their baptismal promises, for a start.

I think a joint statement regarding their common threads would go a long way.

The main reason the CMSWR left the LCWR was because the experimentation went too far.

Then there was the Apostolic Visitation.

I think the LCWR communities have found their balance, and it’s time to reconcile.
