Today's Gospel, Could the greatest commandments describe how Christ is one with the Father?

When Jesus spent his time on Earth, he would have lived by the greatest commandments, could these commandments be the greatest purpose of both God the Father and the Son?

Jesus loves God the Father with all his heart, mind, soul and strength.
Jesus loves each and every one of us as he loves himself.

God the Father loves Jesus the Son with all his heart, mind, soul and strength.
The Father loves each and every one of us as he loves himself.

Before the creation of the universe began, could the greatest commandments possibly describe part of the trinity?

Is it possible that God’s purpose is for each and every one of us to have this Trinitarian relationship with each other?

The Father’s thought is the Word; he contemplates the Word and loves it; this love is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity is the model for all creation.

Do these commandments have a greatest meaning for Jesus?

The greatest commandment is from the Book of Deuteronomy.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD; and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 are the opening words of the daily Jewish morning and evening prayers from the time of Moses even until today. It is called the Shema Yisrael (Hear, O Isreal). Every Jew was to have this prayer on his lips as he lie down at night and woke up in the morning, going out and coming in, at work or at rest. These words were to be drilled into their children and spoken with their dying breath.

Jesus was a faithful Jew and would have been trained by Mary and Joseph to say the Shema like we train our children to say mama and dada.

Thanks for the link Tim, but Jesus links the first and the second commandments together, as in Mark 12: 28-34. We are created in the image of God, could it possibly be that God loves each and everyone of us as he loves himself, could this be the image of God that we are created in?
