… It’s not Christ Centered, so it’s self destruct like the World is.
John, no offense, but Retrouvaille
WORKS for very hard cases.
I am a witness to this, although I never got to reap the fruits myself.
In Retrouvaille, Adultery, betrayal, and many other offenses against marriage find their way to reconciliation through communication and a Christian sensibility, and most of all to a deeper trust and Love for each other.
The only sin that can’t be forgiven is the one where the sinner simultaneously refuses to stop the sin and refuses to ask forgiveness.
My experience is with a woman who thinks herself Christ centered; she is also friends with many evangelical protestants who told her about “submission”; Her piety both awesome, and hypocritical. Her morality swings from one extreme to the other, on the hinge of “getting attention”. She says “YES” so emotionally to her friends, and when they are out of sight – she does the opposite.
The bottom line for me is that Mental illness is not always cured by God at our whim; My Christ centeredness does not cause her Christ centeredness.
I can’t deny, however, what I witnessed in Retrouvaille.
I’m glad, for you, that you found what you are looking for – even if elsewhere. There is no monopoly. If your group could talk sense into my wife – believe me, I would go. But she will not listen even to you.
