There are strange things going on in the Church (i know - duh!).

Why do bishops allow politicians who claim to be Catholic but who promote abortion, receive Communion??

this is not a rhetorical question… I don’t understand why prists/bishops don’t - LOUDLY - denounce their opposition to their pro-abortion stand from the pulpit and make a big show of NOT giving them Communion.

Okay. so they would be embarrassed… I say Big Deal… They asked for it… and maybe then they will get the picture that the Host is sacred and they are not to take it without believing. Non-Catholics who believe in Christ, who may even believe in the Real Presence but who haven’t been through RCIA are not allowed to take Communion. Why are pro-abortion politicians???

Wimps… the Church is full of them… (and/or people who just want to get along… at the expense of truth…).

Is this not a betrayal of Christ?

Who said that if you deny Him before me, He will deny you before the Father…

Not that I remember** that** far back. . .(really. I’m ‘fine wine mature’, not ‘dried up to dust’) . . .

But when Henry VIII decided to 'remove himself and the English church" from Rome. . .virtually every bishop ‘went along’ with the exception of Bishop John Fisher. . .and Henry had him executed.

May God guide our bishops. They need our prayers. They do face incredible temptations and incredible difficulties and yes, as stewards of so many souls they have a great deal for which to answer. If every person on these forums took a few minutes every day to pray the Divine Mercy Novena particularly for COURAGE for all our bishops, I think we’d start seeing LIONS OF GOD more than, say, timid little meerkats. . .

this just further supports my claim…

Those bishops back then KNEW what would happen if they defied Henry VIII…

Is someone going to kill today’s U.S bishops for refusing someone Communion???
