Been in here for 8 hours and I don’t even know if my motives are good. Honestly asking, can one spend TOO much time in the Adoration chapel? Thanks.

Good answer above. Just to add to that…what are you doing on your phone on a forum in adoration? If you need entertainment…then yes probably too long. Go, but come back.

That’s my issue with phones, use them for prayers etc.but how to you stop other stuff from crowding in. Just my own observation, I am sure people can do it…just not me.

Please speak to your Priest about this and your concerns about it.

My concern is with what you are possibly not doing in that time. We need to live our faith practically as well, taking care of school and work responsibilities, exercising, paying the bills, taking care of our homes, seeing family and friends, volunteering and so on.

I have known a number of people who seemed to think prayer alone would elevate their lives and solve their problems. We need to be acting on our faith in the world in very practical ways.

If it’s taking you away from essential duties then it is wrong, but otherwise no.

As far as motives: take those to God in prayer. Our human motives are always selfish and petty. Even our seemingly good motives are ultimately selfish. We need God’s help to do anything even a tiny bit good. So ask God and thank him in advance.

Are you ignoring your duties? Skipping work, skipping study, not doing your chores or housework? Neglecting your family?

If you have 8 hours of free time, there is nothing wrong with spending it in prayer and worship.

Are you a new Christian ? It happens when the Holy Spirit summons us to be close to GOD. For me, when it first happened, I was 3 days in my room, and receiving just the perfect peace relationship with GOD.

Most importantly, what are you doing in the adoration ? If you are enjoying the worship of LORD. I tried spending a few hours per week in Adoration.
