Thank you all for you lovely prayers and messages.
Please keep my brother and sister in your prayers. Mum wanted nothing more than for them to come back to the Church. Neither have been to the sacraments in many, many years.

God bless you all. :grouphug::signofcross:

Thank you all for your prayers. I am feeling stronger but still need prayers. The funeral is not until 30 June because family have to travel a great distance. This is hard to deal with. I wish Mum’s body was in it’s final resting place.

My wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ,

Thank you for all your prayers. We laid my mother’s body to rest today with my father and sister.

I organised her requiem Mass and it was WONDERFUL. Although not a full sung Mass, the choir was in attendance and we sang the Kyrie (Orbis Factor) and the Agnus Dei (XVII) both plainchant.

The entrance hymn was “Sweet Heart of Jesus, fount of love and mercy.” The psalm was psalm 90 (On Eagles Wings). The Offertory hymn was “Be Still my Soul.” the Communion hymn was “Soul of my Saviour.”

At the Commendation, we sang “May the Choirs of Angels come to Greet you,” *(In Paradisum: *written by Ernest Sands) and the recessional hymn was “How Great Thou art.”

I chose the readings and designed the order of service. I asked for your prayers and they gave me so much strength. You will never know how indebted I am to you all. I felt so alone as most of my direct family live in the US. (They were all here.)

Her body was brought into the church last night and that was the worst bit. To see the coffin and realise that she was truly gone from us, in body. Once again I thought of you and your prayers and together with the age old prayers and liturgy of Holy Mother the Church, I was given strength.

The reception afterwards, (we don’t call it a wake, that was last night) was so filled with love. It was just perfect. She left behind an astonishing legacy. We love her so much.

Please continue to pray for me and my mother. She will put her merits in the Heavenly Bank for you.

When the family go back home it will be hard. I have to begin a new life and I am waiting to have foot surgery. I have lovely friends and belong to a Franciscan parish. Everyone has been so kind. I am so grateful to belong to a (catholic) universal family.

God bless you all and thank you for helping me so much.
