Hey paperwight, if one is in a state of mortal sin then sacramental confession is indeed required to be reconciled, and people had already mentioned that prior to my post, though weren’t altogether clear at points about it being required prior to the actual reception of communion. I was simply hoping to clarify a couple of issues for the OP that I’d seen were being potentially somewhat clouded in some of the discussion prior to my posting, as well as following with some encouragement to the OP with our Lord’s words and actions in his annointing the apostles to carry on that ministry for him. By no means did I intend to relay the strange idea , or “wrong information” as you say, that everyone must go to confession prior to every single communion regardless of the gravity of their sins. Of course not, and I honestly don’t believe that people took that idea away with them after reading my post.Your original post stated baldly that confession was required before receiving. Holy Communion. And that is not what the Church teaches.
That being said, I certainly hope that none of this posed any sort of stumbling block for you or anyone else.
I hope that this explanation is sufficient for you, and will cease now to engage with you any further on the matter.
Have a pleasant evening.
