Oh, well thanks for sharing that story that brought tears to my eyes! 😂

We both really like this one as “our song,” after 33 years of marriage.

It’s not as romantic as your song selection or the older man’s in the video, but my wife and I (ever since our college days when were dating) sometimes sing a few lines to each other from the Elton John and Kiki Dee song, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

Me: “Don’t go breakin’ my heart”
Her: “I won’t go breakin’ your heart”

(then repeat a few times)

Oh, that’s cute, I remember that song. Did you two act out the parts? 😂

No, and I try to not dress like Elton, either.

At my age, I can barely remember the, “Don’t go breaking my heart” line. 😃

This was the song we danced to at our wedding reception 32 years ago and it still means as much to us:

And over the years, we’ve come to use “Kokomo” as a a code word for “let’s go someplace where we can be alone and get away from the crazy world”… whether it’s an actual vacation getaway or just our back deck with the phones shut off.

Both great songs, but I really miss songs like the first one. I remember there being a lot of those kind of songs back then by men singing in falsetto. I tell my kids they don’t know what they missed, lol! Happily, my daughter has decided she likes Al Green and Marvin Gaye, so that’s not too bad I guess.

Getting married in the '80s meant we had a lot of great songs! “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You” by Glen Madeiros was another one we considered, along with “You’re the Inspiration” by Chicago

Has anyone else seen the OP human interest news story? With all the negative news stories out there, I thought it was a breath of fresh air.
