You’re sure that it’s just women who want contraception? It also works out for the men who want consequence free sex.

I agree though that chastity is a virtue that should be encouraged for everyone.
Of course it is, and I don’t think its the main issue of feminism, but they push it so much. What’s sad is the original feminists (those who wanted women to vote) were very pro life. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with women being equal to men, but i think we can agree there are some things women do better than men and vice versa. Doesn’t mean we both should be able to do them.

As for the OP (i know I haven’t addressed your question) I think you need to talk to the priest at your church. No sedevicantist can receive communion at a Catholic church. However, ask her why she comes to an FSSP church when she believes it to be false. I know there is no SSPV chapel in your town, but surely she could find some other sedevicantists to join with. MAybe use this as an oppurtunity to show her what you believe and what she believes. Also, if you can make it work. I say go for it. But if not, don’t risk putting your soul in danger.

=Sword Brethren;10181406]I was taught the Catholic Faith by and baptized by a Sedevacantist Priest. After 10 years as a Sedevacantist, I left and returned to the Church. The Sedevacantists I knew were sincere people trying to save their souls in a world in which the Holy Catholic Faith has be hijacked by Modernists. It seems to me that Sedevacantists are the one group that uncharitableness towards is allowed.
GOSH! I certainly hope this last statement is not true:rolleyes:

I haven’t seen evidence of it personally.

God Bless,
Pat

The OP hasn’t been back since 12/23. I have a feeling he’s left us. He really wants to be with this girl and I don’t think he wanted to hear that it’s not a good idea. Hopefully some seeds were planted and he can talk to her in a more in depth manner. I pray things work out for him one way or another.

The couple is not going to have a valid marriage unless she changes her beliefs. Any priest would not allow this wedding because dangerous to the faith, if they were married under false pretense in a regularized church the marriage would be invalid, and if they were to get married in her church then the sacrament would still be invalid. This is completely different than marrying a protestant, protestants are in schism but they are not schismatic a sedevacantist is a schismatic individual.

My opinion.

First, there’s nothing wrong with being more catholic than the pope. The measurement standard of our faith is Christ, not the pope. judging oneself to be better than the pope, is a different thing though. Judging is always wrong.

Second, don’t tell the priest on her. That’s lame, it’s against charity, and the priest may be on her side if he’s in the FSSP. And then it’ll be awkward. It’ll be betraying her trust.

Third, the SSPV is worse than the SSPX. The former has no interest in returning to the church, they think the church is in heresy for being nicer to people. Seriously.

Finally, the advice I give all people. Pray about it frequently, and talk to a spiritual father.

I know lots of Catholics that have married Protestants. I don’t understand why it would be more difficult to someone who is closer to my beliefs and believes in all the sacraments.

And doesn’t the Pope say we should respect people of other religions?
Sounds to me like you have already made up your mind, you just want someone here to validate your decision.

🤷

Doesn’t the Church require children be raised Catholic? Or not anymore?

And I don’t know if I am going to marry her. I am just confused how this would be easier if she was Anglican.
My husband is Anglican and when we got our marriage blessed in the church he had to sign a form saying her promised to raise our children in the Catholic faith. Would she sign the same form for you? The form says the Catholic faith, not her version of it.

What is wrong with feminism? It is not about superiority but about equality.
Feminism in the sense of equality like equal pay and having basic human right is nothing wrong. But we have now is not the type of feminism our Holy mother would condone. She is the model of true woman! Humble and obedient to God. What was her regard for this? Well Mother of God and queen of heaven. Guys who support distorted feminism are only in it to “get some.” They are what some people call manginas.

Like all of the Sacraments, marriage must bring us closer to God and make us better Catholics. When dating somebody, I would always ask the question: will this lady, the way she is today, push me to become a better Catholic or will she make me choose between her and my faith?

While the Church does allow inter-faith marriages with protestants, the Church views it as being a sad occaison and certainly not something to be encouraged or advised in any situation.

What an absolute load of tripe.

AGREE!!

If we all followed what was mentioned in “Chapter V”, the whole human race would die out in a generation- kind of flies in the face of God commanding us to “be fruitful and multiply”!

Protestants reject all popes they reject holy Tradition they reject the sacraments they reject the Church, but marriage is OK. This girl rejects some popes marriage is bad. This is stupid and not logical. If it is OK to marry a protestant than it is clearly OK to marry a sedevacantist.
She is still better than all this “I love God so much” heretics filling the ordinary form parishes.

But sedevacantists are the only ones the seem to deny that the Pope is the (visible) head of the Catholic Church- even atheists acknowledge that.
