Not sure if this is right forum for this but I find it striking that a Russian Patriarch would echo what the popes have always said that error has no rights.

In his Sunday homily, Kirill attacks attempts worldwide to pass laws that guarantee the "right to any choice, including the choice to sin”. “The consequences could be apocalyptic,” he warns.

Moscow (AsiaNews) - The Patriarch of Moscow Kirill has lashed out at what he calls the ‘’ heresy of bowing down to man" and the defense of his rights, which banishes God from society. The Russian Orthodox Primate spoke in these terms during his homily in the liturgy of March 21 on the occasion of the feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of Lent.

The patriarch reported that today the universal criterion of truth has become the individual and his rights and "has begun a revolutionary exile of God from man’s life and that of society”. The Patriarch maintains that this movement started from Western Europe and America, and has now also arrived in Russia.

“The idea of a life without God is developing on a large scale around the world,” he warned, explaining that “in many developed countries there are concerted efforts to pass laws entitling the individual to any choice, including that of sin”.

“Today - he continued, as Interfax reports - we speak of global heresy of man’s bowing down to a new idolatry, which separates God from human life. Globally there had never been anything of its kind before”.

Kirill went on to explain that the Church must direct all of its “strength, words and thoughts” to directly contrast this “heresy of contemporaneity, the consequences of which may be apocalyptic”.

I find it ironic that he said this godless movement started in Western Europe and America and spread to Russia. Doesn’t he remember the godlessness of the former Soviet Union??

Not to mention the incredible lengths to which the Soviet Union went to spread the godless ideas around the world!

"Pope Pius XII in October 1942 performed the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the entire world, and in July 1952 he specifically consecrated the Peoples of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by his apostolic letter Sacro Vergente Anno. Pius XII stated:[6][7]
Code:
"Just as a few years ago We consecrated the entire human race to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, so today We consecrate and in a most special manner We entrust all the peoples of Russia to this Immaculate Heart…"
Patriarch Kirill is right and God has His Church and His remnant acting to counter the new threat.

Pope Benedict:

"We are moving toward a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one’s own ego and one’s own desires. The church must defend itself against threats such as “radical individualism” and “vague religious mysticism”. [emphasis added]

Fear God, not men. Have hope. God wants you to trust Him more.

One could argue that Communism has its origin in Western Europe. Marx was a German, after all.
