Traditional style english Mass

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knew of an English Mass anywhere around the Washington D.C. area where you receive the Eucharist kneeling and on the tongue. I heard of a solemn Novus Ordo Mass where the Mass is pretty much the same as a Latin Mass only it is in English and I can’t seem to find one anywhere. Here is the type of Mass I am talking about youtube.com/watch?v=blM80QeuseQ . I posted before about a solemn Novus ordo Mass but no one seemed to know what I was talking about. My dilemma is this I like Latin Mass and I prefer it to the OF of Mass. My Wife likes regular English Mass, and my children (who are 2 and 2 months) tend to do better in an English Mass. I just feel like TLM is more solemn and respectful so I personally prefer it and I can’t seem to find a OF Mass that makes me feel as close to God as an EF Mass does. If anyone can tell me of an English Mass in the Washington D.C. area that is like an EF mass I would greatly appreciate it.

That appears to be the OF Latin Mass ad orientem (priest facing east). Maybe the readings are in English, I don’t know, but that appears to be very beautiful.

I really wish I could help you, because then I’d know of one myself! Honestly, what you’re talking about would be my preference. The new translation’s English… smells, bells, simple chants for the English propers, and ad orientam would swiftly induce drooling for me. Noble simplicity, for real! And while we’re at it, throw out the NAB and put the RSV-CE in its place!

Well you can’t really have an English Mass (Novus Ordo?) that is the same as the traditional Latin Mass. Because even if the N.O. Mass has the proper vestments, bell, smell, Gregorian chant etc… it is still a completely different liturgy, with a completely different canon and rubrics. The Latin Mass is called so not because of the language, as much as it is the liturgy of the Latin rite/ Roman Church. I think you could even have a Latin Mass in the English (if you have the proper Papal indult). Frankly I would suggest that if you cannot find a Novus Ordo mass that is properly reverent and with orthodox clergy, then just keep going to the Latin Mass.
