Greetings fellow Catholics and Eastern Brethren, a few days ago I seen a thread concerning the political affilliations of Traditional Catholics in regards to feudalism, monarchism, and facism. Out of couriosity I took a political spectrum test at The Political Compass online. My results indicated that I am a fascist with capitalistis leanings:

Economic Left/Right: 6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 7.38

I was just wondering the political beliefs of other Traditional Catholics. And if anybody else takes time to do the quiz at the Political Compass (politicalcompass.org/index)
could you please post your resuts?
 
I’m an economic right-winger with social libertarian tendencies. Pretty much what I thought 🙂
 
It says I’m an authoritarian/fascist with collectivist leanings. I don’t like how it puts anti-capitalists on the “left” side of the graph. I have something of a “destroy all Commies” mentality but I don’t like capitalism either.

On the graph I’m hanging around with the Stalinists, but to me a far more important axis is the attitude of the state toward religion. Stalinists want an officially atheist country; I want an officially Catholic one. That makes us opposites in my book.

I am a fan of state-issued jumpsuits though. They could be color-coded to reflect your social role. It would also clear up all this nonsense about immodest and inappropriate clothing. Nothing viscerally promotes teamwork like a good uniform.

I always seem to come out in the middle even tho I think some of my views are not really in the middle 🤷

Anyway, I think the idea of this map is good, but too many of the questions are bad. For example, how to answer “Sexual activity outside of marriage is almost always immoral.”? I agree with its being immoral, but I disagree with the “almost always.” There are too many questions like that, where if you answer no, you know they are assuming only one other option. So I don’t see this as being very accurate, because of the questions, but also because they need more dimensions to be able to really include Catholics.

Yeah. Maybe instead of an X-Y graph where X is economic and Y is social, it could be a three-dimensional X-Y-Z graph, where X is economic, Y is social, and Z is religious.
