‘Infers’ and ‘implies’

InFers = someone Finds what another ‘imPlies’ =Places in front of them.

This is the exact reason that we are in this dilemma. The laity, however well formed or intentioned, can instruct the class on “Procedures” , yet it is the pastors duty and obligation to teach the proper “Liturgical Background and instructions.”
Just as the poster had issues with the their instructor ,be assured that someone will develop the same attitude towards you. The instructors are normally sent from the Diocese!

I was in your position, I also formulated a program that was followed yet I will not teach this program.
He teaches and I assist.
The only proper resolution would be if the diocese would provide booklet for instruction of the lectors and Extraordinary ministers. Among other things this would confirm how important they are in the service of Jesus Christ, and may be would promote the proper attire and behavior while serving for every helper.

The diocese provides the instructors. There is a six point formation training in my archdioceses that must be followed in order to be mandated. This covers much, much more than your above post.
Again, it is the Pastors duty to do this properly!
The laity are entitled to a proper Liturgy!

A six point formation? What exactly does that entail? Just curious. We have a formation training from the Archdiocese that is required every 3 years in order to be mandated. And then we have a parish wide formation that takes place once every 2nd year that is also mandated…the parish formation is also mandated. Just wonderingt what you mean by a “six point” formation.

IHe stated only his first name. Said "not Fr. ----- just -----. That’s how I was born, and baptized and that’s what how I want it to stay."
Some people are uncomfortable with titles. Especially if it’s a training session for EMHC, it’s not like someone’s going to forget that Fr. is a priest with the dignity and respect that comes with that. We’ve got several priests at our college here, and I know when they speak to each other they’ll just use first names.

He also might be trying to make himself more approachable. Going by a first name makes a person much more down-to-earth and less on a pedestal in the minds of many people (Are you going to go out for coffee and an informal chat with Bob, or Dr. B. Johnston, PEng, PhD, MSc).

Required training material that must be covered in order to be mandated.

Preparation Guidelines for E.M.H.C. at Mass
A theology of the Eucharist as celebrated in the Roman Catholic tradition.
Some background/historical catechesis on the evolution of eucharistic practice and devotion.
Assistance for ministers in fostering a well- rounded spirituality of the Eucharist.
An exploration of how baptism calls us to be a worshiping assembly and a people of service.
A practicum for the proper manner of distributing communion ( bread and cup) in the local community.
Time for prayer and reflection together
These are the guidelines established from the Diocesian Office of Divine Worship in my Diocese.

I also have the Guidelines for “Ministers of Care”. This is much more involved and very comprehensive.( Minimum of twelve hours of training)
