Redemptorists = C.SS.R., not FSSP.

The whole order wasn’t suspended, just the TR. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

Anyhow, this is great news. :extrahappy:
Pardon me – CSsR, which Father Pablo belongs to. You’re right, not all Redemptorists were suspended…

This is really good news. Hopefully they will be treated well and show the SSPX that the Church of Rome has only good will for them.

They are the ones featured in this Scottish video:

Such a great video! I love the fact that they attempt to convert the gentleman who visited. You can tell that they really made an impact on him (especially when they say their goodbyes.) Let us hope that he has since become Catholic and give thanks for this wonderful group of men who have come back to the Church.

On another note, the Asperges Me was great!

What a great time for Traditionalists!

How does this affect their eastern rite affiliate, the small one giving Cardinal Lubomyr Husar the grief?

It is known as the SSJK, and as I recall they had a particularly strong working relationship with the Papa Stronsay group (until recently, at least).

They never left the Church. If anything, Pope Benedict is trying to bring the Church back after John Paul II and Paul VI’s disastrous reigns.

The big problem is getting those who have consistently been “in communion” and are holding onto liberal errors to actually “come back to the Church.”

Great rhetoric, but that isn’t the fact. Believing something does’t make it true.

Refusing to believe something doesn’t make it false.

Is this great rhetoric?
“Christ suffers in his own church,…the falling of many Christians away from Christ and into a godless secularism,” [but also the fall of]** those Catholics ****who abuse **the sacraments or their positions in the church.
How much filth there is in the church, and even among those who, in the priesthood, ought to belong entirely to him…”
“…Lord, your church often seems like a boat about to sink, a boat taking in water on every side.”

Fr. Michael Mary, the superior of the TR is very much devoted to a fully non latinized celebration of the Divine Liturgy.

I am very glad that they have regularized their situation.

“Regularised their position” - this sort of language is more prudent and circumspect than certain other posters above, who insist on the Transalpine Redemptorists having “come back into the Church” etc.

As with Campos, the ease with which their “regularisation” was accomplished gives lie to the “schism” myth.
Since when was a schism ended by the offender simply re-affirming what they had never denied?

This I believe, I have read his own words on the subject. I was just wondering if father Vasyl Kovpak is part of this reconciliation, he reportedly had spent some time with the Transalpine Redemptorists on Papa Stronsay in the recent past, and he is not devoted to the non-Latinized Divine Liturgy.

If they (the Trans Redemptorists and the SSJK) had a falling out over this it would not surprise me. I am just curious.

I imagine that since the SSJK is a separate entity and was just associated with the TR ,much like the SSPX and other like minded groups were, that they are not part of the reconcilliation agreement. The SSJK is too much tied up with the SSPX to risk a separate reconiciliation I beleive.

Does this mean the TR are back in full communion with the Catholic Church?

If so, that’s great. I saw the TV clip about them before, and wanted to go spend a retreat there (being in Scotland myself), but then was so sad to find out they were in sympathy with SSPX and their status was highly suspect.

Now that they are regularised, does this mean their masses are licit and it would be OK to go there on retreat (if they even allow retreat visits for non-TV-crew lay people that is!)
