I was listening to a non-Catholic talk radio station. A caller asked about the signs in the Old Testament that pointed to the Trinitarian God.

He then asked whether or not Moses believed in a Trinitarian God.

It got me thinking about the Trinitarian meaning behind the Transfiguration - Jesus speaking with Moses and Elijah and was called “Son” by God the Father.
“This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.”
Matthew 17:1-9
Mark 9:2-8
Luke 9:28-36

Not sure where you are really going with this post but the Trinity is all over scripture if we look hard enough and don’t read each verse as a fact that needs to be understood. It’s a constant struggle for me to resist reading Scripture analytically rather than spiritually.

Here is an example from the Gospel of John.

***Jesus said to him, "I am *the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Jesus tells us that he IS truth, saying “I am the Truth.” Truth is not an abstract idea. Truth is a person. Truth Has a name. Jesus Christ IS truth itself.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you. (John 14:16-17)

Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit is the “Spirit of Truth”. Since Jesus is truth, the Spirit of Truth must be the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Jesus says that he is in us and so the spirit of Truth remains with us. And he ties it in with God the Father in his discourse with the Samaritan woman…

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks such people to worship him. God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth." (John 4:23-24)

Jesus is Truth. The Spirit of Truth must therefor be the Spirit of Jesus, becuase Jesus IS truth. Then Jesus tells us that God the Father is spirit, and that we must worship him in spirit and truth. Its a sublime message which reveals to us the relationship between God the Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus. John is telling us here that Jesus is God!

I was jumpiing up and down in the living room when God illuminated these pieces of scripture for me. I had engaged a pair of Jehovah’s Witnesses on matters of faith and they are very good at what they do. They really shook me up. I reading John (especially chapter 6) more as a means to calm myself down and God showed me this and immediately calmed anxiety and fear.

How gifted John was. He is like a master weaver, using threads such as spirit, truth, worship, and Father to create a beatiful tapestry. John also weaves together a priceless Eucharistic fabric throughout his Gospel using the threads of life, bread, spirit, breath, flesh and Jesus. It’s undeniable once you are able to notice the prhases and how they are connected throughout different parts of his Gospel.

the Trinity is revealed in two scenes in the Gospels:
  1. The Baptism of Jesus
The Father’s Voice speaking as the Dove (the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove) and, of course, Jesus.
  2. The Transfiguration (as you mentioned, but only partially).
The Father’s Voice, Jesus, and the Glory Cloud (the Holy Spirit, which was in the form of the Glory Cloud, or Shekina, as Israel traveled through the desert.)
