Transfiguration?

When reading the story of the tranfiguration in Matthew, I came up with a few questions and was hoping someone can answer some of them.
  1. Why did Moses and Elijah appear? 2) Was this a fulfillment of a prophesy?
  2. Also, why does Jesus tell the 3 disciples not to tell anyone what happened? Jesus says, “Do not tell the vision (the transfiguration) to anyone until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”
It also says in this reading that John the Baptist was Elijah. That Elijah had to come first. 4) How is this possible? Was this an incarnation of sorts? I thought Catholics didn’t believe in incarnation.

I might be totally confused on this reading and that is why I’m reaching out. Please let me know if you can answer any of my questions. Thanks! J
 
I am also curious as to how the apostles knew it was Moses and Elijah; they didn’t have any pictures or statues of them.
 
The site is Orthodox but I think it is indicative of Catholic thought on the subject of the Transfiguration. One of the footnotes even makes reference to the Catholic Encyclopedia. I’ll check further to find some Catholic sources offering the same insights.
 
My Catholic Jerome Biblical Commentary says much the same thing that is written on the Orthodox site to which you were referred.
