Sorry if I miscategorized this topic, not quite sure where to stick it.
I was listening to Catholic radio for a while yesterday, I think it was Kresta in the Afternoon. The topic was transgenderism. Some people called in and had some good questions and some good advice was given. Since I was driving at the time, I didn;t want to mess around with my phone to call in. I work with a transgender person (a male transitioning into a female). I feel in a way as though I am in a bit of a awkward situation. Obviously, referring to him as a she would be a lie. But then referring to him as a he would give the appearance of not being tolerant. I get along with him quite well, he is a very pleasant person. I would so love to at least try to plant a seed in him so to speak, at least get him thinking about faith and God. I am trying to get to know him better and to strike up conversations with him whenever I can. I know God loves him no matter what, and I want to share with him God’s love.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What worked? What didn’t? Any suggestions for subtly/gently hinting at or flat out bringing up the faith topic without sounding judgmental and pushing him away? I know ultimately it’s different in each situation but would love some ideas. I know we are to show God’s love to all and I want to do just that.
Thanks!
