Travel to Cuba

Instead of lying to Caesar why not demand freedom of travel and movement.How dare ANY government restrict your travel.If people can go to Afghanistan and Pakistan they sure as heck should be allowed to go to Cuba-I don’t see them blowing up tourists and cutting their heads off.
The American embargo doesn’t affect the people at the top-only the poor and strangely makes them MORE nationalistic.In my conversations with Cubans they want to solve their OWN political problems.Dictatorships ALWAYS fall eventually not because of embargos but because the people refuse to tolerate any more.It’s silly archaic,doesn’t work and is used to placate a bunch of bitter people from Miami.

(my edits) And therein lies the problem. Politicians are vote (and money) whores. Unless there’s a wealthy coalition of people clamoring for free travel rights to Cuba that are organized, sufficiently concentrated to swing elections, have money, and have clout, the voters from Miami will get their way since they can swing the outcome of an entire major state in US elections.

Immoral because american citizens are prohibited from making tourist trips to Cuba, so going would involve some sort of trickery.

Not necessarily. Back in the 90’s, I had an opportunity to go to Cuba to go fishing. I didn’t end up going, but there are ways to go to Cuba.

I am wondering if this is an example of an unjust law and something that can be broken. Does the US government have the right to say where its citizens can and can not travel?

I can’t see anything in the Constitution that gives the government the right to restrict travel.
