I homeschool my daughter and this book was recommended for Church History from a Protestant perspective for teaching younger children. I may have found a online version of the entire book, but if not I’m curious about it before I buy it.

Has anyone here read it? If you have, Does "definite Protestant perspective " mean bordering on anti-Catholic? Is it appropriate for children? Any other ideas about it?

From the amazon.com description and reviews, it sounds as if the book deals with early and medieval Christians respectfully, so it’s not going to be as anti-Catholic as some. But note that the post-Reformation figures mentioned are all Protestants. It doesn’t seem to be a connected narrative of church history but a set of stories about important figures. That being said, the inclusion of the medieval figures and of C. S. Lewis indicates that we’re not dealing with extreme fundamentalism.

I would suggest a subscription to Christian History and Biography, the magazine for which I and my wife occasionally write, but it’s going out of circulation soon.

Thanks. It 's tough to find good books on Church History for young kids.
I did just find a free-ebook version of Trial and Triumph, so I will just read it myself, but it sounds like if I do use it she will need more Church History besides that.
 
Thanks Scottgun, I will put that in my files for later. My kiddo is in 2nd grade atm - about to move on to 3rd.
