can anyone recommend a website with information on staying at convents for a short period of time? does anyone know of a particular convent that is open to this idea, either abroad or in the states? thanks
PFSome congregations are beginning pilot programs where you can “be a nun” for a temporary commitment, say 1 year. They would involve aspects of community, prayer, ministry, and spiritual formation, but since you would not be intending to join them, your time would be different than the “lifers” (like a postulancy or novitiate).
These are three I know of:
Sisters of Humility, “Visitation Program”

Erie Benedictine Sisters, “Benedicta Riepp Program”

Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration
http://www.benedictinesisters.org/general/hospitality.html* (go to this site, then click on “sand springs”)*Isn’'t the Erie group the one Joan Chittister is associated with? If so, I would avoid that one.
