Consider this fictitious futuristic scenario:

If you were a national dignitary who had the chance to meet with the leader of some non-christian country, what would YOU do to exhibit Christianity.

To make it easier, imagine that you are the guest of the king of Saudi Arabia and for a month or two had a chance to talk to him one on one. What possible tactics could be employed in this case to evangelize him? Would you promise a great future for the country if the people there tolerated all religions?

Just like Emperor Constantine, would his conversion spread Christianity through the Arab world? Would they become Christians by the millions? Would he be deposed?

Please keep in mind that this is just imaginary, so please don’t answer- I’ll just not talk about it. Remember, you are guests of the leader, you won’t be harmed. If not that country, answer the question on any country you wish.

Have you ever argued religion with a muslim? I’d consider it a total waste of time–and in some cases hope to get out of their country as an alive infidel–guest or not!😃

I would hope to follow the example set by St. Justin Martyr when he addressed the Roman Senate and Emperor Antoninus Pius. He argued for freedom of religion based on philosophy and reason and used the opportunity to mix in some apologetical reasons why his audience should become Catholics. My favorite parts were where he disproved polytheism based on reason and where he used Scriptural prophecy to prove the Bible’s truth.

An ambassador is a diplomat who is a representative for a country and are sent to speak on behalf of their country. Think of yourself as a ambassador sent by God to present the truth of the Catholic church.

Follow the Holy Father’s example. He speaks to non-Christians often, I believe, and exhibits charity and concern for their lives and problems.
