Got this request for a sub-forum:

I was wondering if a seperate forum could be created under Liturgy and Sacraments for the Indult Mass.

There are much differences in the Liturgy and Sacraments for the Tridentine Mass as compared to the New Mass and I feel a sub forum would be appropriate to discuss issues in the Tridentine Mass.

Thanks!
While I’m sympathetic to the desire for a dedicated forum to discuss the Tridentine, my thought is that such a forum would be a magnet for rad trads. Any other thoughts?

It’s a bad idea and I agree with your thinking on it. It will become a magnet for the “holier than thou” crowd and the rad trads – no, no, no. If we do this for Liturgy then surely someone will want a sub forum for each of the sacraments too. Both the NO and the Tridentine are Masses. Neither side ever gets shorted on “discussion threads”…

I echo the others. It will just be an insular kvetching community.

You don’t happen to sleep with a dictionary for a pillow, do you?

I was a deprived child who grew up in a family that didn’t use baby-talk and did say “whom” on a regular basis. Didn’t have much TV and did have a lot of time with adults. And didn’t have much money, which meant nothing better to do with myself. The dictionary and the encyclopedia became my constant companions. I carried the entire unabridged dictionary and full set of encyclopedias to school each day, walking ten miles through the snow. Uphill both ways.

Now my knees are worn out, but my active vocabulary is great.

(Ha ha ha!)

TM, I agree with you completely. NO way do we need a magnet for those folks. They have several of their own forums already anyway…
