Greetings,

Does anyone here have any information on “Tridentine Wedding’s”? Anything would be appreciated (videos, pics etc…).
Thanks.

Dominus Vobiscum,
Rocco

Ya, I had one…by an FSSP’r.
Better have solid knees cause you never get off them til the last whistle.
Even exchanging rings (if it’s double) ya do on your knees.
At the end of Mass you also kneel at the side altar of Mary & pray for her Blessing, then the other side altar same to St Joseph.
Also, you go to normally go to confession right before the Mass begins.
You usually pick the choir, hymns & the altar boys you want to serve.
The Bridesmaids & Bride all had full sleeves since it was winter. In any case no strapless stuff.
Pics are permanent in an Album so none to post.

I just sang in one in Corpus Christi. He had a polyphonic choir, two men’s scholas, an FFSP priest and the local auxillary bishop presiding. It was professionally recorded and filmed, and a documentary of the event is going to be included in the eventual DVD. It is still a few months away since he only got married last month, but you can monitor his website for the release. No need to badger him. He is very good about posting stuff on his site.

Ours was three hours long, but that’s only because Fr. Longinus (an appropriate name) gave a 52 minute sermon.

The nice thing about the trid. rite wedding is that the marriage takes place first - your first act as husband and wife is to attend mass together.

I was married at Mater Ecclesiae Chapel in Berlin. You must have had a Low Mass for your marriage- we had a High Mass- and we sat, knelt and standed at the appropriate times. Both of us sat inside the Sanctuary as well. Also, only my wife went to the statue of the Blessed Virgin, where she knelt at a kneeling desk after placing a bouquet of flowers before her image. No one went to St. Joseph.

I will be getting married in the Latin Rite on June 9th. I will post pics later. 🙂

LOL…I think my priest was the celebrant at that wedding.

Some TLM weddings have a beautiful ritual where the priest wraps his stole around the couples joined hands and says a blessing- it was in the movie Amadeus if anyone’s interested.

Actually, this is not the universal custom at Tridentine weddings. I was married at one myself, and I have been to several at various churches. In all of these, the bride and groom stood during the actual wedding ceremony.
