My understanding is that the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday does not come to an end on Thursday. The priest never says, “The Mass is ended, go in peace.” Someone once told me that Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday are like one long Mass.

Now, at the Easter Vigil, after the procession with the candles, we start with the readings and things go forth from there.

It seems to me that Holy Thursday Mass has to end at some point and Easter Vigil Mass has to begin at another point, or else you would have one Mass with two consecrations. So, at what point does the Holy Thursday Mass end and the Easter Vigil begin?

Is there any reason to believe that a single liturgy is not consistent with two consecrations?

I’ve wondered that myself. A normal Mass would have no reason to have two consecrations. The Vigil Mass would be the only circumstance where that would occur. But is that what is happening? One Mass with two consecrations?
 
I guess I’ve never thought about it like this. Of course, the services are intimately connected, so they could be thought of as one big liturgy divided by time. Maybe it’s like the Liturgy of the Hours - there are several prayers throughout the day with a definite beginning and ending, but the idea is about one continuous “liturgy”?

Correct. The reason that there is no dismissal at the end of the Mass on Maundy Thursday is because that Mass is followed by the procession to the altar of repose. This is still part of the proper rite for that day and, consequently, no one is dismissed at the end of the Mass itself.
 
So, the Holy Thursday Mass continues into the Easter Vigil Mass, and there are two consecrations in one long Mass?

It was already stated but rather than saying one long Mass it would be more correct to say one long Liturgy.
